People Parking vehicles on main road causing traffic congestion

Reported anonymously at 13:26, Monday 14 January 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 4 minutes later

People keep parking on the main foxhall road just after the area of double yellow lines and leaving their cars there to walk to the train station. However this is causing severe delays during peak times and when you overtake the cars it is near a blind bend and the car in front of me last week was nearly hit so narrowly missing an accident. There is yet again a small red micra parked there again today, this is a repeat offender as have seen this car there several times. Others should not suffer because they don't want to use the Train Station Car parks provided. This road should be double yellow lines all the way to avoid people doing this.

  • Thank you for your report. the instllation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a 'Traffic Regulation Order' which involves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time.

State changed to: No further action
