Boddington Lane/A4095 junction
Reported via Android in the Roads and Carriageways category by DAVID ARCHER at 13:57, Thu 3 January 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
On the 22nd December, there were two separate Traffic collisions on the A4095. One involved a Ambulance, the other a 3 Car incident only a few hours later.
The road surface, road markings may well have been a contributing cause of these collisions. Many vehicles sweve around the very poor road surface, to avoid holes etc. There are no visible white lines indicating a right hand turn/junction. No Reflective Cats Eyes. It all adds up to a recipe for for more collisions.
Please can someone address these issues, before there is fatally.

This is a very broken up road surface along this section of the A4095. The junction to turn in/out of Boddington Lane is particularly bad. The white line markings are not visible, drivers have to swerve all over the carriage way, which does and will cause collisions. In my opinion this stretch of road is a high safety issue that does not seem to be taken seriously by the County Council.

In response to my original report on the 3rd January, the questionnaire update requested from Fixmy Street, is NO this hasn't been fixed. In fact this whole area is in a very bad state of repair. From the air I sometimes wonder if the RAF at Brize Norton, don't use it as practice drop zone before flying to some war torn county, to drop supplies.

This road is getting worse, dispite many complaints and the local MP getting involved according to reports in local media.

I was pulled over by an unmarked police car at 05.15 on Tuesday for "driving erratically". When I explained that I was avoiding the very poor areas of the road they both agreed that it was in an awful state of repair. This part of the A4095 is patched up year after year and with the white paint currently marking the poorest spots it look like it's going to be patched/bodged again. Why not save an awful lot of our money and have it resurfaced properly . . . . just as you are doing in Long Hanborough?

It is unbelievably that this fairly sizable section of road has not been fixed. Robert Courts MP (West Oxfordshire) is reported in the local media to be pushing for fixing the road infrastructure in West Oxfordshire. I see no evidence that anything has changed..... why am I not surprised. !

The Junction is still in a terrible state of repair. It needs re-surfacing. I believe that there are possible plans to sort this out, and the Junction at Park Rd, North Leigh/ Eynsham Hall. BUT, the OCC are spending money on vanity projects, and not addressing the really issues as usual.

Like the kicking if the proverbial tin can, this repair has been knocked back, until next year's Budget for consideration
