Carraigeway and gutter subsidence

Reported anonymously at 18:57, Wednesday 2 January 2019

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

For some time the road and gutter at the bus stop in Holloway opposite Bulan Road is very dangerous for cyclists and passengers alighting from and getting on buses. Over several months the road, gutter and kerb stones have been and is subsiding causing cyclist to deviate their line of travel and the need to swerve into the traffic. During the hours of darkness the situation is even more dangerous and likely to cause accidents.

  • This has been a problem for over 2 years, I regularly use this route with my son who is disabled, he finds the fact that we're risking life and limb on our tandem very distressing. Please do something as a matter of urgency, The position of the potholes and it's proximity to the traffic island means that cyclists are now using the pavement to avoid being "cut up " by cars. In a previous post someone stated that this particular issue was "not suitable for immediate repair" If it was outside Ian Huspeth's house I wonder if it would be?
