Lights not working
Reported in the Street lighting category by Lynette Jones at 12:08, Wed 19 December 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
Please repair the lights around the car park at Burwell Hall, despite ringing this morning. I was then told it was District Council and District who said it was Town Council and Town said it was OCC. This is a dreadful situation where they do not know who is responsible for what. Disabled people, youth groups and more use the hall on a regular basis and the lack of lighting is causing problems.

Thank you for your report, we did receive a fix my street report via Witney Town council and have logged a fault as unit no 94 as per the attached map (red cross). If it is the 2 units in the actual car park these are private units and not owned/maintained by Oxfordshire county council. Could you please advise the unit numbers you are referring to using the attached map so we can log these faults. thank you

As I cannot drag your ciccle to the required area it is difficult to establish the post. It is at the end of Farmhouse Meadow, there are two car parks, one owned by Green Square and the other by Witney Town Council. BUT the lamp posts are in the pavements which should come under Oxfordshire County Council. The numbers on the post have been bleached off and not redone so I cannot even give you the numbers of the lamp posts in question if you send an engineer out I can show them it needs to be dealt with immeidately. n

It is lamp post 95 No 1 and No 2 as well as the one marked with a cross which is so badly covered in foliage from a Garia tree that it is pretty useless.

Thank you for confirming unit numbers, we have logged no 95 out alongside no 94. Columns 1 and 2 are private lights and not the owned/maintained/ responsibility of the oxfordshire County Council street lighting department, unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights and therefore cannot assist further on this occassion

Despite several Councillors being involved in the replacing of these lights they still have not been repaired. A total disgrace the area is very dark with two lights now out of action and an area known for drug dealing and vandalism.

We do have an open fault on our system for column 94 and 95 which will be actioned as soon as possible. As previously advised columns 1 and 2 are private units and therefore we are unable to repair. Thank you

The lights that you have taken responsibility for are still NOT WORKING. What does it take to get them fixed as clearly you are taking no notice!

Two residents had a meeting with Cllr Laura Price about this situation as OCC and WODC Witney Town Council will take responsibility. I have contacted the MP Robert Courts who is "looking into it" our next step is the Witney Gazette and Oxford Times.

AfAt a meeting of the Town Council it was deemed that they would take responsibility for the lights PL1 and PL2 also the OCC are responsible for 94, 95, 96. Since then 94 has been repaired but not PL1 it is still not working. Please get it fixed.
