Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later
The crews at Henley Fire Station have recently experienced difficulty accessing some roads which I would like to bring to the attention of the highways department. We are addressing this locally with a leaflet drop which raises awareness of the need for a fire appliance to manoeuvre safely along the roads when responding to an incident.
The majority of the roads are off of the main Reading Road, A4155 and include the following;
Niagara Road, Boston Road, Harpsden Road, Newton Gardens, Marmion Road, Park Road, Grange Road, Grove Square, Upton Close & Albert Road.
I appreciate that these are old narrow roads, however illegal parking has been observed, particularly in Albert Road, which obstructs access for the fire appliance. If you require any further information or assistance with this matter, please get back to me.

Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the delay in a response. As you suggest there are several roads in Henley and in many old towns and villages across the country which are narrow and can cause problems if vehicles are parked inconsiderately. If there are any specific vehicles that do park in a way that obstructs other vehicles attempting to use the route, then please do report them to the police.
State changed to: No further action
