Farringdon Road is a main and busy road for Abingdon. Every day I have to walk from my road (Larkhill) and then attempted to cross Farringdon road without being seriously hurt by a car. I can appreciate there is now a car park for Abingdon boys school and buses will come and go, however, this has made the road even more busy with less safety for older people, school children and people like myself. There are three surrounding schools: Joh Mason, Larkmead and Abingdon boys with yet no sign or traffic lights to ensure members of the public can cross safely. There is no speed monitoring for this road either, cars will speed up and down, which doesn't help the issue of feeling safe. To add to this issue, every weekend parents of the children who attend Abingdon boys school will park their cars all down Farringdon road, this is including parking on the pavements, so pedestrians can't even walk on the path. They block both road and path which makes this already busy main road a health and safety risk for motorists and pedestrians. I propose for there to be a Zebra or Pelican crossing to be built so everyone can cross the road safely and motorists will be more careful of the speed they are doing. I also propose for there to be double yellow lines places on the road to stop the parents of Abingdon boys school parking on the road and pavement. If this issue doesn't get solved then I fear a member of the public will one day get seriously hurt.
