Parking on a road junction. I have recently asked local police advice about this and they said they would look at it. Highway Code rule 243 advises no parking within 32 feet of a junction. I have reported this recently, relating to an exact same issue in Priory Road Wantage, where OCC kindly installed a 'KEEP CLEAR' which helped. I am offering to pay for this instalation at the first right turning into the 1st cul de sac in Chandlers Close OX12 8EW. Cars actually park in the junction, obscuring vision when driving out of the Close left towards Ormond Road. I ask for a 'KEEPCLEAR' and or double yellows please. This is dangerous parking.

Please see above info. I work in Wantage Market Place as an Attendant, assisting the public and parking for the local authority. I am always happy and available to discuss the Chandlers Close parking issue. And look forward to your reply.

  • The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a 'Traffic Regulation Order' which involes a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, i regret that Oxfordshire county council could not fund such a scheme at this time. The budget for the installation of road markings in the Vale district has now been fully allocated for this financial year, the installation of a 'keep clear' marking will therefore be considered in the 2019/20 financial year.
