Flooding on left side of road coming into village after rain.
Reported in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 18:07, Wed 5 December 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
There is a waterfall type sluice that blocks as it has been hit by a vehicle and is not correctly aligned to take water away. It has caused flooding twice during the last month which I have been able to alleviate by removing mud and debris from its water inlet.

Sadly after your great work to mend this drain it has again been hit by a large vehicle and broken. It filled with water during heavy rain this week. Some protection needs to be afforded the drain to keep vehicles from hitting it.

Unfortunately the work done to repair sluice in January was damaged shortly afterwards. From the photos you can see the sluice (photo left) is unable to remove any water from the road into the stream (photo middle) also the road gully is blocked which is a regular occurrence. Closeup of sluice (photo right). Major works were undertaken on the bridge at Oaksmere in approximately 2014/15 to remedy the often flooded roadway. The sluice being part of those works. As previously stated something needs to done to safe guard the ironworks to allow it to do the job it was intended for.
