Road sign obscured

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 08:39, Mon 26 November 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

There is still white tape over the NSL sign. Has the temporary speed restriction to 50 mph on the A4074 approaching what was a temp. 30-mph zone around Heyford Hill roundabout been lifted? If so, please could the white tape over the NSL sign be removed? It is very confusing, also potentially dangerous, when some drivers read the cancelled sign as meaning ’50-mph limit still in force’, while nearly all the others charge past a good 20 mph faster. Because many people use the opportunity of road turning there into dual carriageway to overtake, it is hard for slower traffic on the inside lane to move out to allow vehicles from the slip-road (Henley Rd) to join the main road safely. I first noticed this when driving into Oxford 18 Nov. Was reminded yesterday (25 Nov) when traveling the same route, but this time on the bus, so had the opportunity to look at the sign on the left side of the road more closely; couldn’t see the one on the right.
