Corner of Honey Lane & Pound lane: street light not working for several days

Hazard for pedestrians in Honey Lane crossing Pound Lane at junction.

Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.
Reported faults will continue to be registered on our management system and these will be tackled in coming months.

  • Ref: 348307 Thank you for your report; we have logged this as a fault on our management system. Our current policy is for our contractor to attend electrical & structural emergencies as a priority; these will be attended within a 24hr period. All other faults are logged on our management system, for efficiency, these are grouped by area and the date they were reported, and the contractor attends against a programmed of works based on this approach.

  • Still not repaired as of today, now been over two months without this streetlight working, this I right on a junction and kerbs cannot be seen when crossing Pound Lane, as very few streetlights in the area anyway.

  • Street light working late evening 15/01/19. Not working 18.00, 16/01/19.

  • Street light still not working 30 January 2019. If contractor has been paid for defective work, I suggest he should be required to rectify problem free of charge.

  • Street light IS working. Lamp head replaced with soft-white down-lighter which is less visible from a distance than the original orange sodium lantern.
