Stream Feature on Mill Street dried up by Thames water works in road. The contractors have cut their trench through the spring-line and the stream has disappeared into their trenches. They plan to tarmac it back over tomorrow and have not restored the stream. This is a vital feature of the village and feeds wildlife and is a feature in many gardens down stream. The second issue is that the fill put in by the contractor SMB is permeable and will wash away down the line of the trench for the new water main. this will lead to road collapse eventually. Please get on to them as soon as you can to get them to plug the trench and restore the steam. This is an imperative that the Stream is restored. Thank you, Andrew T. Clark Vice Chairman, Stanton St. John Parish Council.

The issue has been present since the Contractors sub contractor Browns excavated their trenching for the replacement water main.
Please could you ensure that the specification for back filling the trench is non permeable at the point of the spring adjacent to the road.
Thank you.
