Cuddesdon road in Horspath

I would like to request that the speed limit on cuddesdon road in Horspath be reviewed to make it more than the current 30mph. Most of the local people think the speed limit is too low considering this is a mile to a mile and a half long, straight piece of road. It has no pavements, no street lighting and the few houses there are a long there are all set back at least 50m from the road. The Highway Code says that a 30mph restricted road suggests a built up area (it is not), with street lighting (it has none), and pavements (it has none). 30 mph makes sense as you enter Horspath village around copcot close where the traffic calming is but not the rest of the road into the countryside.

Thank you for your report. A change to the existing speed restriction would require an amendment to the Traffic Regulation Order which in volves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, i regret that Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time. We would usually suggest to approach the local Parish Council for funding but we are already aware that they would not support such a scheme.
