Street lights 5 & 6 in Millington Road have not been working for several weeks. Suspect that bulbs have failed.

On Millington Road, Street Lights 5 and 6 failed several weeks ago making visibility poor for drivers and pedestrians. May also pose a security concern as it could encourage vandalism and burglaries.

  • Ref: 348074 Thank you for your report; we have logged this as a fault on our management system. Our current policy is for our contractor to attend electrical & structural emergencies as a priority; these will be attended within a 24hr period. All other faults are logged on our management system, for efficiency, these are grouped by area and the date they were reported, and the contractor attends against a programmed of works based on this approach.

  • Elderly and disabled people from the Westgate House Care Home are struggling to avoid obstacles in the footpath and to stay on the footpath, due to it getting dark before 17:00. They rely totally upon the streetlights when it is dark. We don't want any regrettable accidents.

  • After 2 months of waiting the lights are still not working. Will we qualify for a reduction in our council tax ?

  • Thank you for your report, this is on our managment system for attendance, due to two lights being out we have requested our contractor prioritise these units.
