20/30MPH & Flashing School Warning Lights.

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category by Ernie Povey at 17:14, Wed 14 November 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Just sat here wondering whose great idea it was to repair/replace these signs in the same location as they have been for years now getting hit and damaged time after time? The tall one needs to be on the other side of the carriageway to stop it getting hit by long vehicles turning into Kiln Lane. I have reported this problem several times over several years, when will someone see sense and move them???? I'll let you know as soon as they get hit again.

  • Thank you for your report. The 'tall' sign on the southern side has a solar panel on top so would not be able to be placed in the northern verge as the trees would obscure the sunlight and teh school 'wig-wag' lights would not work, the signs have to be in this position as they carry the speed limit signange, to change the position of the speed limit would require an amendment to the Traffic Regulation Order which costs several thousand pounds.

State changed to: No further action
