Surface of road where services have been laid is disintegrating
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category by Kevin Tomblin at 15:06, Tue 30 October 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
The road is a single track lane that accommodates both cars and lorries. The road surface where services have historically been laid is disintegrating. Because of the width of the road vehicles are driving in the ruts with the net affect that the surface is now down to the hardcore level. Vibrations from the vehicles as they drive over the ruts is starting to affect the stability of a dry stone wall. Regards, Kevin Tomblin, Tadmarton Parish Councillor

Hi Go past the Village Hall and the Church on the left.
After approx. 75 metres there is a lane to the right off the main road. The problem area is approx. 20 - 50 metres down this lane opposite College Farm and Panorama

The holes are becoming larger and now have a depth in excess of 7 cm . There is constant erosion by cars and vans. The lane, in addition to cars and vans, is used by pedestrian, cyclists and horses. If the holes became obscured or is not seen then damage and accidents may occur

The pothole is getting progressively worse and now measures a depth of 11cm. Due to the narrowness of the lane it is impossible to miss the hole without damaging neighbouring property. The hole is most definitely a safety hazard to pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles and horses especially where the hole can become hidden through rain or most recently snow. The lane is regularly used by young horse riders and it has been noted that a horse did stumble. Urgent remedial works is required and whilst it is only a lane the dangers are the same whether it is a lane or a main road Remedial works are due to take place on Main Rd (B4035). This lane is a spur off Main Road at a point where the works will be undertaken. Can the lane be included in these repairs? It would make economical sense to do so.
