Speed limits on a MULTI lane highway

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:39, Tue 30 October 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

After travelling the A41 flagged at 50mph single carriage I arrive at a MULTI-lane highway (Oxford road). Traffic queuing for Tesco/etc etc obscure any signage (if there is any). It would seem this short stretch to the P&R is limited to 40mph??? which returns to 50mph on down to the M40 junction. Unless speed limit signs are place at the traffic lights any stranger is not only unaware of the restriction but would not assume to be other than the limit they just left. Paint it on the road if necessary, but low riding cars cannot see over SUV's and MPV's.
