Tree root system blocking sewer run
Reported in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 11:27, Wed 24 October 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Approximately four years ago the tree pictured above caused a serious blockage to our sewer run due to a large root ball formation in the run. This was resolved by a local man and Thames Water. However the problem seems to be resurfacing, as early this year the sewer was again blocked, however with a bit of persistent drain rodding yours truly was able to solve the blockage. this summer though, we have had 2 more serious episodes and a builder has told us that it would appear that the root ball problem has come back. Therefore I would like the council to remove the offending tree as the verge the tree is sited on is maintained (i.e.mown, strimmed cleaned etc) by Oxfordshire Council. This is in order to avoid any further serious sewage blockages as occured 4 years ago and just recently. A final note is that upon closer inspection of the tree, it will be seen that i is not that healthy as it has another "weedy type tree wrapped around it. Thanking you in anticipation. Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your update on this offending tree dated yesterday Monday 28th: at 14.56 p.m. with the term "State changed to: FIXED". I have uploaded photos taken some 10 minutes ago showing quite clearly that this tree is still standing and still causing me enormous problems with two sewer blockages in the last month. Please could you advise me if this was an error on your behalf as I feel certain that this tree including pictures of our cottage could not be mistaken for any other tree in Back Lane, Aston. Many thanks and I sign this:- "becoming extremely concerned".
