Failed street light (light no. 2 on the corner)
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 11:34, Fri 19 October 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
I have lost count of the times this light has failed. it is surrounded by trees and seemed to stop working when we had those high winds last week. It is a dark corner because of the trees so not looking forward to the winter without it!
Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.
Reported faults will continue to be registered on our management system and these will be tackled in coming months.
Thank you for this report; unfortunately I cannot locate the street light in question: the position shown on the map is in Heron Shaw and there is no street light (or any trees) in the vicinity. Please can you let me know which road it is in, the adjacent property number, and if there is a number on the column what it is. Kind regards, Mike Ward Assistant Parish Clerk email@example.com

ALL the street lights in Lycroft Close have failed now! We are completely in the dark at night.

Thanks for your report; we are aware that all street lighting in the area (including Lockstile Way and part of Milldown Avenue) has failed, and this has been reported to SSE for them to investigate.

Sorry that this problem has not yet been fixed; SSE have investigated but it is a main supply fault affecting a wide area and they have not yet been able to find where the fault lies. They are definitely on the case and we are putting as much pressure on them as we can.

Thanks for your update - we are aware of this and have reported it to the contractor responsible for fixing it, SSE. If it is a simple fault they usually fix them in a matter of days, but for more complicated faults (e.g. a mains supply fault, which as more than one light is out seems likely) they are allowed up to four weeks to repair. Hope it won't that long!
