No road markings northbound on A4074 at roundabout
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 23:42, Wed 17 October 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Unlike at the 'Wallingford roundabout' (next roundabout northbound on A4074) there are no road markings approaching the Mongewell roundabout to indicate that the left lane should be used for turning left and the right lane for continuing north on the A4074. As a result, vehicles not infrequently use both lanes for continuing northbound, which is dangerous as there is only room for one vehicle exiting on the N side of the roundabout. Please can the lanes be marked up to avoid accidents.

Accident narrowly averted last week, due to vehicle in left hand lane not turning left, but continuing straight on and cutting-up the vehicle in the right hand lane which was nearly forced to crash into the stonework on the centre of the roundabout to avoid a collision. Until both lanes are suitably marked (left turn for left lane, straight on for right lane) confusion and a collision at this roundabout will continue to be a serious risk.

Couldn't agree more. As sign dictating the lanes would help, and a left and right arrow on the ground in each lane.
I use this every day and it baffles me how many people get this wrong.

The lack of road markings at this junction continue to be a serious hazard. Please can something be done about it before an accident occurs? Again this week saw vehicle in left lane continuing straight on and nearly forcing car in right lane into the traffic island/ oncoming traffic from Port Way.

Traffic lights at wallingford bypass near mongewell. Totally chaotic out of synch and tail backs especially at rush hour. Consequently the bridge at Wallingford id grid locked too. How long do we need to put up with this?

Hello
I think that it's absolutely disgraceful how you have allowed Wallingford and its surroundings to be gridlocked for an entire month. Those developers are making enough money from the project and so should be forced to spend as much as it takes to have those roadworks completed to a shorter timetable, even should it mean having people working through the night.
I assume that you or your developer friends are compensating suffering businesses for the loss of custom. I run my own business too. To whom should I apply for that compensation due for excessive quantities of wasted time sat in traffic?
