Dangerous obstacle in middle of carriageway
Reported anonymously at 07:17, Wed 17 October 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 3 minutes later
There is a road island in the middle of the carriageway (A415) that's been badly damaged and is unlit and has no reflective. PArt of the road furniture is in the carriageway. At night the street lights at that junction are turned off. This means there is a completely unlit obstacle in the middle of the carriageway. Its been like it for several days and I have twice witnessed a driver nearly collide with it. The situation is dangerous - that's not an exaggeration and needs urgent attention if only to make the hazard visible to road users until it can be repaired properly.

I can concur that this is serious hazard. Not only is the island unlit it has absolutely no reflective qualities at all.

This is what the island should look like but, instead, it has been smashed into and temporary plastic gates have been erected around it. As a previous person has said, it is totally unlit and is a large obstacle. It is extremely dangerous.

This is incredibly dangerous and could kill. If someone who doesn't know the road overtakes on their approach to this obstacle they would run a high risk of crashing right into it. It is unlit and effectively invisible until you are right on it.

This hazard is a nightmare in the dark and a potential death trap. Why is it taking so long to fix it? I travel on this road every day and it is frightening in the evening!
