The road marking on the A4074 at the junction to Dorchester on Thames via Henley Road are not clear and can potentially cause an accident

Going over the road to the central waiting area on A4074 at the junction is unsafe. Today I was verbally abused when driving over to wait in the central area. I drove on the left hand side of the road and the other car crossed over and went to the right hand side, both of us from the Henley road. Please could white arrows be painted on the road to stop this from happening. Often a car is travelling from Oxford to Shillingford (South) wanting to turn into DOrchester and is unable to do so as there is a car in the way or the car wanting to turn left stops and thinks is being helpful but one cannot see the traffic behind if they wait and would make it unsafe to the pull out onto the A4074.

Thank you for your report and apologies for delay in response, vehicles should stay on the correct side of the carriageway, their path is determined by the centre island in Henley Road, we will look at the possibility of further markings when the road markings at this location are refurbished in the future
