School coach unable to access Gillotts due to on-street parking

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 2 minutes later
Gillotts Lane provides access to Gillotts School and Henley Leisure Centre, from Greys Road, so there are many hundred traffic movements per day. On-street parking reduces the road to single track which can cause gid lock, particularly at the end of school. Yesterday, about 6pm, a large coach returning from a school trip was unable to reach the school due to on-street parking. Please can you consider some parking restrictions on this section of road?

The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a traffic regulation order which involves a long and expensive legal process, including full consultation. I regret that Oxfordshire County Council cannot fund such a scheme at this time. Vehicles parking in such a way to cause an obstruction are committing an offence under s.22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can therefore be reported to Thames Valley Police.
