Dangerous state of repair
Reported anonymously at 17:05, Sun 30 September 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council 15 hours, 4 minutes later
Anti slip surface has worn away. This was reported many months ago( records on this website prove this), was inspected and by relevant authorities that there was indeed a real hazard to life and limb, authorities stated that a quote was obtained and remedial work would be carried out. Nothing has been done and we are again in the wet season and also I have already seen 1 cyclist loose control in the early morning due to frost on the worn and polished bare wood. When it snows these will be deadly to anyone using this path as they will be completely covered. We are going to place notices on fence of bridge informing anyone that has an accident, or knows of anyone having an accident, that local authorities and sustrans have been informed for many months of this lethal hazard to enable them to sue the relevant responsible people who have failed to carry out safety work this 2 bridges. In the mean time we request that this national cycle path is closed and removed from local/national maps/guides until the bridges and the pipes to north (see separate report)and the tree roots to south are fixed as all 3 hazards are in the space of such a small section of path.
