HGV`s continually parking where there are HGV restrictions

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:43, Fri 28 September 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

On Noral Way, Banbury, There are parking bays available and there are clear signs to say NO HGV`s. HGV`s park here a lot now, and one of the signs has been vandalised. There is now a small residential housing development on off Noral Way, called Noral Close. As you can see on photo 1 as we turn right towards the southam road, we have to turn into on coming traffic which is a hazard. This is an escalating issue now that the development is almost full. We have spoken to the local distribution centres who have been really good at not letting their delivery drivers use this road as a truck stop. For safety reasons would it be possible to remove the parking bay that is infront of the entry and follow on the double yellow lines.

  • This issue is continuing to be a problem, with some trucks parking 50% on the pavement to fit within the lines.
