Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 11 minutes later
Earlier today, I was traveling in my car from Didcot to Oxford, as I approached the Milton Interchange I positioned myself in the right hand lane to travel round to the A34 Northbound. The lights changed to green and I maneuvered round only to be met by a rapidly approaching green seat Ibiza approaching from Steventon end? This car was going to Milton Park which was cutting straight in front of me, so I swerved to avoid a collision and clipped the Kerb of the embankment and had to rapidly drive along the slip road to join the A34 or be hit by an on coming 40ft trailer! I would suggest the traffic signal timings are completely useless and it’s only a matter of time before someone is killed on this death trap of a roundabout. I am not the only person to have experienced this type of issue on this roundabout after posting my shocking experience on social media, so I thought rather than just rant about this, I decided to do something about it as I came within seconds of a terrible collision today because of what seems to be a poorly thought out roundabout.
I will be escalating this matter but wanted to inform you.
Thank you for your report, we are now investigating this issue and an update will be posted as soon as possible.

Our Signals team has checked the site and found the signals to be working as intended and without any faults. An Engineer has also attended site and found the signal heads aligned correctly. We are also not aware of any similar reports at this location.

I have several people who have said the problem seems to be impatient motorists coming from Steventon end, cutting directly in front of oncoming traffic approaching A34 Nth bound from Didcot end, so as part of an investigation I would suggest a camera as a deterrent pointing at the Steventon approaching traffic would be a good intervention as I know there have been several accidents and a fatality already, so something is very wrong.
