Overgrown hedge

Reported in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 09:17, Wed 19 September 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

Hedge is overgrown, neglected and seriously overhanging the path in Westminster Way, near property number 148 and housing from Crozier Close that backs onto Westminster Way. There are some brambles in this overhanging foliage, which someone has crudely chopped away and left on the verge. This needs cutting back properly, as it forces the pedestrian out nearer the busy road. This is an ongoing problem that has never been properly resolved.

  • Thank you for the update. I hope this will continue to be monitored and not become an issue again, as it grows very quickly and possibly needs a little bit more cutting back than this as there is quite a weight of foliage above which may become pushed down due to rain and windy weather.

  • This report has been closed as the owner of 148 Westminster Way, Botley has had their portion of the hedge cut back. As for cutting back the foliage above, this unfortunately, doesn't meet our current intervention criteria so I cannot arrange a repair. We will continue to monitor this during our routine inspections.
