Broken street light

The street light on the left hand side of Oxford Road going towards Cowley, immediately before the turn off to Temple Road, is not working.

Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.
Reported faults will continue to be registered on our management system and these will be tackled in coming months.

  • Many thanks for raising this with us, sadly the issue here is to do with the service cable, SSE have been notified as they own this part of the asset, I will press them to ensure this is rectified

  • Four months later this still hasn’t been fixed. Has anyone chased SSE? Do they not have a legal obligation to fix these issues within a specific timeframe?

  • We are currently in communications with Scottish and Southern energy chasing several jobs that are yet to be completed, this being one. We do maintain correspondence with them, however unfortunately we have no authority over their workload. They are monitored by ofgem
