Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited the site and assessed the problem that you have identified. Unfortunately it doesn't meet our current intervention criteria so I cannot arrange a repair. We will continue to monitor this during our routine inspections.

Oxford CC have previously stated the criteria is:
“Our investigatory levels are 40mm for the carriageway and it depends on location. I will continue to monitor this on my routine inspections. Regards State changed to: No further action”
I can demonstrate these levels are met via photographs if required.

This is the standard reply, that they have inspected them and that they don’t meet the criteria, I have provided photographic evidence for other potholes exceeding the criteria, to get the same standard copy and paste response. They spend more effort pretending that they don’t exist, possibly in the hope that they’ll fill themselves in or disappear?! Why let them get to such a huge and dangerous state before doing anything?

Totally agree. And merely marking them with white/yellow spray paint is not in itself any defense should damage or an accident occur. The law applies a test of reasonableness and diligence. Given this area of road is also unlit you would hope good sense is applied to such notifications.
