Street lighting not working

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 10:15, Thu 13 September 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

The street lighting on and around mead road / Oxford industrial Park is not working. I am the asset manager responsible for the property. Our electricians advised that the lighting is connected to the councils electricity supply / supply that covers street lighting in adjoining roads. This is a h & S risk with the dark nights appreaching and Id appreciate your help with repairs

Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.
Reported faults will continue to be registered on our management system and these will be tackled in coming months.

Updates

  • Hi Graham Many thanks for your report unfortunately these lights are not serviced by an Oxfordshire County Council service cable network as all of street lights in this area are connected on to Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks cables. If this is the same for your private lights you will need to contact them direct to investigate and repair any defect/faults on the network, the Manager responsible for repairing faults is Les Cole and his email is les.cole@sse.com.

    Kind Regards

    Dave Hendy
