A Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings problem has been found
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 11:15, Tue 11 September 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I live in Steventon, and use the nearby roundabout under the A34 quite a lot to access Didcot, Oxford etc. There was a fatality a week ago on the roundabout, and another accident, and I strongly feel the lane markings are to blame. They were excellent before the changes occurred, but I have been almost veered into many times since the lanes changed and feel it is far more dangerous to use the roundabout now. This urgently needs monitoring before more lives are lost. I do feel that the lanes could certainly be altered to make the roundabout considerably safer to use.

I use this roundabout every day travelling from Steventon to Didcot and I’m fed up of having to swerve to miss a collision from somebody who gets in the wrong lane and then doesn’t even look or indicate that they are moving lanes. There really needs to be signs above the road with words as to where each lane is going rather than just arrows. For example the second lane has an arrow indicating you can left to the A34 and a straight arrow. People take the straight arrow as going to Didcot not Milton. So they then get to the traffic lights under the bridge and realise they are in the lane for Milton and whilst in moving traffic just move across into the didcot lane. Having the information written in the road just doesn’t work.
