As with many of the stiles along our countryside footpaths, this is just one example of a non-right of way to so many with hip or knee replacements. Also, impassable to all but the most agile dogs and their walkers. This type of stile greatly inhibits the enjoyment of our countryside to so many people even on this, an excellent circular route from Hook Norton.
