The whole of the Aston mile is cracking, breaking up and deteriorating

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 08:32, Mon 3 September 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

It's impossible to pin point a single problem as the sole length of the Aston mile has deteriorated. Several sections have long cracks and are falling away towards the verge. There are a number of dips and bumps that have formed particularly on the section towards Ducklington. Stretches where the road was dug up and replaced by laying fibre cables are already breaking up before frosts have started. The whole road needs inspecting, sorting and resurfacing.

  • 29/10/19: This road is dangerous and vehicles now travel down the centre to avoid the holes, deep ridges, and huge bumps, that may result in a head on collision this winter. Heavy loaded vehicles and lorries should be banned from this road and take the A415 instead. They are taking this unsuitable road as a short cut to deliver building construction material to the housing developments in Aston and Bampton.
