Road markings incorrect

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 08:26, Mon 3 September 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

Giveway markings on both sides of road where bicycle cut through is shown. In my experience vehicles expect cyclists to give way when coming from behind. On the other side of the road, giveway markings are shown for cyclists yet they have right of way, again confusing to motorists who do not cosider cyclists. I have already spoken with both Peter Egawhary, and Tony Kirkwood in 2013 who sais the road markings were incorrect and would be corrected once the new development was underway. As you can see the recently painted markings have been re instated as before ? Please confirm if this will be corrected to make cycling safer.

Updates

  • I now notice other cycle lanes incorrectly painted.... Accident waiting to happen, not exactly encouraging cycling in Banbury.

  • I now notice that other road marking have been painted incorrectly, despite previous assurances that they would be corrected when the new development took place. Why are you allowing this to happen when the situation will only get worse ?
