I reported the numerous large potholes on the road going from the Great Brook road bridge right down into the hamlet of Chimney back on 7th April tiled 'no. of 33-60cm wide potholes on road down to Chimney hamlet' On 20th April I had confirmation that the council had reviewed and deemed it a duplicate report and that it was scheduled for repair. No repairs have been undertaken over the past 5 months on this stretch off road. The the potholes and road surface has continued to deteriorate and now in an extremely poor condition where total resurfacing sections rather than filling in potholes looks like the only adequate way to adequately repair them. It's a single track road which means they're often unavoidable and in wet weather impossible to determine where they are versus what is just standing water in dips in the road edge. This road is a serious hazard to cyclists and drivers and increasingly so. Since reporting it both I and my husband have also sustained tyre and wheel damage which has needed repairing.Whilst the hamlet is only small there is quite a lot of traffic down to it with the nature reserve staff and visitors, numerous walkers who drive down her to walk and of course the local residents and visitors to the 3 large holiday barns. Please can we get our road fixed asap - as we've now been waiting 5 months.
