Zebra crossing, Cars dont always stop. Wantage Road, Didcot
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 08:56, Mon 20 August 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Due to all the junction, pub; bike; sainsburys; co-op and people negotiating parked cars, this zebra crossing is dangerous, cars and bikes dont always stop even when you are already crossing. I think theres too much going on in this section of the road and drivers dont notice the pedestrians. Its got worse since Sainsburys has been built. I personally have had 3 near misses in the last 6 months, others in the area have too. Would you please look into the situation please.

This remains a terribly dangerous crossing. There are too many distractions for drivers which means that they don’t see people waiting to cross in time or at all. On the crossing or just after/before are: -Entrance into petrol station. -Exit from peril station - Entrance into mini supermarket car park - Entrance into pub car park - Entrance into house driveways Etc

Agree - it's a matter of time before someone is injured. Suggestion: change zebra crossing to traffic lights and red light cameras. - Sherwood road resident.
