A path was installed over a year ago outside my parents house, 406 Thorney Leys, to access new housing. The work has left an 8” drop from my parents side entrance to the new path. We have been promised several times that this is going to be made good but, as yet, nothing has been done. My parents, Mr and Mrs Wright, are 92 and 88 years of age and we are terribly worried that they are going to slip off the edge and injure themselves, hence, we have inconveniently, told them not to use their side gate. Should anything happen to either of them, through your negligence, we will sue. I have been tempted to report this situation to local papers and tv news but my parents keep asking for us to wait. Please deal with this ASAP.

Thank you for raising this item with us and apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. I have carried out an inspection and, now that all works associated with the site have been completed, as part of a remedial regime the developer will be addressing this issue in a suitable manner to remove the drop from the gateway to the footway.

The developer who carried out the works has been contacted again to rectify the issues in this area. Please note, however, the back of the new footway in this location is the extent of the highway boundary. Anything beyond the concrete back edging is private land in the control of the adjacent property.
