Edge of road collapsing - the drop is a serious hazard to vehicles

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 21:14, Thu 26 July 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

At one of the informal passing places on Thrupp Lane, the eastern edge of the road is collapsing, probably due to the impact of HGVs pulling over. There is now a steep drop of probably 30-40 cms at the side of the road, and the road edge is breaking up. A light vehicle (such as car) which went into this drop could well be at risk of turning over. If a cyclist was to ride into it (e.g. in the dark - and this is a Sustrans national route) they could easily be injured. This problem is becoming progressively worse, and I believe that it represents a serious danger to users of this highway.
