No heavy goods vehicles should use this road , it is to narrow and is becoming a huge danger for residents and road users for this road. Also Speed restrictions would make this more safe as well as cars come charging along these roads.. Please look into do this

Please note that the dangerous area is opposite Manor Farm and that last week a Range Rover travelling at speed mounted the pavement and popped a tyre. Fortunately, nobody was on the pavement this time. Also, a disabled person lives at 8 Manor Road and needs to park outside her house.

This is an example of a HGV mounting the kerb and still being unable to pass. Consequently, the HGV tried to reverse and blocked the road. I had to get into my car and move it so that the HGV could pass!

A tractor couldn't get by this morning and the owner of this vehicle had to move his car, by which time there was an eight car queue.

This report has been closed. However the issue has been passed to the relevant team for consideration for future programmed works. There is a sign saying unsuitable for hgv's already at the Westcott end. Lorry drivers generally try to avoid such locations but frequently have no choice if they have deliveries to make in the area. A formal weight restriction would likely have no impact and would be very costly to introduce. Delivery vehicles would be exempt and I suspect the number of lorries trying to use this road as a shortcut is very small.
