There are 'Road Narrow' signs at both ends of Clifton Hampden Bridge

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 10:44, Tue 17 July 2018

What would you like to be updated on? There are 'Road Narrow' signs at both ends of Clifton Hampden Bridge, OX14 3EH and another such sign covering a manhole on the southern end of the bridge. The positioning of this sign causes traffic to pull out into the centre of the road to pass round it and this action is currently causing concern to people and walkers using the Thames Path entrance at this juncture. These signs have been in place for many months now and I am enquiring as to whether the actual manhole repair has taken place and the signage left in place for some reason.

Updates

  • These signs have been in place for several months, when I telephoned your office to enquire why, I was informed that the only item on file was for BT works. There has been no sign of any activity ever since the signs were placed. So what work is supposed to be taking place? The signs need removing before they find themselves at the bottom of the river.

  • In response to the latest update and referral to BT works, this is NOT the case at all. The problem is with a cracked and apparently ill-fitting and therefore, noisy manhole located on the southern end of the bridge. ITHAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED, despite it having been reported several months ago.
