I had a slight issue a few weeks ago with regards a large pothole which has caused issues with my car.
A delivery van was parked just in front of it and a car was coming towards me on the other side so I had gone into the dipped pothole to give way.
As I drove off to manoeuvre around the delivery van my tyre seemed to get stuck and took some acceleration to get out of this pothole.
I eventually drove away but the car felt quite strange to drive so I stopped at a garage because thought my tyre was flat. On observation it was fine and I got home but struggled with the steering.
My neighbour checked my car when home as he is a mechanic and saw that the bolt had sheered underneath and the only reason would be that pothole so that’s why my steering was very strained.
I didn’t want to risk driving it and rang my local mechanic who worked on it tirelessly and had to order new parts to remove the bolt.
My overall mechanic bill came to £227.10 which is more then I imagined it would be. I wonder what procedures you have in place to claim on damage to cars from potholes? Could you please advise because I. Guessing that I wouldn’t of had that bill and occurrence if the pothole was rectified.
I look forward to hearing from you.
