Street Light is permanently illuminated

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 08:51, Tuesday 26 June 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

The streetlight opposite the front door of 13 Warmans Close is permanently lit and has been for a number of weeks. This is not due to foliage as there is none close to the sensor. N.B. there is no legible number on this street light so I can only identify it by location, which is on a footpath rather than the road.

Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.

  • Ref: 344524 Thank you for your report; unfortunately we are only able to attend structural and electrical emergencies as a priority at the current time. All our electricity supply are un-metered therefore whether it is operational or not we will be paying the same amount for the consumed. Obviously we do like to get these repaired to save energy, these are grouped by area and the date they were reported, and the contractor attends against a programmed of works based on this approach
