General run down condition of the street

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 1 minute later
I am writing with regard to the condition of the roads and verges in Brookmead Drive, Wallingford. When you enter Brookmead Drive from St Johns Road, you will see how very rundown it all looks, the road surface is in an appalling state, the road markings have faded, the verges are rarely cut and there are weeds along the edge of the pavements. I understand from a resident who has lived in his home from new, that the arrangement was the residents would take care of the front gardens, the pavements and the roads until the council took over, which it has done. When are you going to fulfil your commitment? As a resident of Brookmead Drive I find that if I want my home and the area I have chosen to live in to look nice I have to keep my front garden tidy, I am happy to do that. I also have to clean the pavements, mow the verge and dig up the weeds alongside the pavement. Please let me know what is going to be done about this. You have increased our council taxes after all.

Thank you for your report, sorry for the delay in reply but we are now investigating this issue and an update will be posted as soon as possible. The issue that has been added ref the lamppost not working, if still an issue, needs to be added separately as the streetlighting team will then be better able to deal/advise, thank you.
