I can see on our council website that we should be able to apply for permanent signs on the highway. The reason for the sign is that we have a farm entrance which we feel would benefit from pre warning cars the road is 40mph but has regular speeding traffic. I have been working with my local Cllr on improving safety at the entrance. The entrance is regularly used for farm activities and we currently put of temporary signage however a better control would be permanent signs as this removes the risk of having people walk along a busy road with regular vehicles travelling over 40mph. We work closely with our look Cllr and take part in speed checks on the road with the local community

I have just this week placed an order with our contractor to provide "Farm vehicles for 2/3rds of a mile" warning signs to cover this length of road. They should hopefully be erected within a month or two.
