Excess Ivy on Trees

Reported in the Trees category anonymously at 14:51, Wednesday 16 May 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

Hi. A couple of the trees on this roundabout are being overrun by ivy which will eventually kill them. Would be grateful if someone could come and cut the ivy at the foot of the tree as is usually done. Mentioned to Henley Town Council....they indicated it was your area of responsibility. Thanks.

Updates

  • Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited the site and assessed the problem that you have identified. Unfortunately it doesn't meet our current intervention criteria so I cannot arrange a repair. We will continue to monitor this during our routine inspections.

  • So the tree has to be almost on its last legs and completely swamped to receive attention...it only requires a man with a small saw to cut the ivy stem...in fact the man who came to inspect it could have done it in 5 minutes.
