"Keep clear" road marking required: cars frequently parked across dropped kerb

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 22:52, Wed 7 March 2018

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

There is a footpath/cycleway between Elizabeth Jennings Way & Bainton Road, with a dropped-kerb exit onto Elizabeth Jennings Way, but it is frequently (normally!) blocked by parked cars. There's no signage or reminder that a dropped kerb means that you shouldn't park there. I think there should be at least a white line & "keep clear" marking, or better a double yellow (but I understand that's harder to organise).

Updates

  • "KEEP CLEAR" markings would not be permitted at this location as they can only be used to prevent queuing traffic from obstructing a side road or major access. However we will consider a single white Access Protection Line after April if budgets allow.
