Trees and Verges encroaching onto carriageway.
Reported in the Grass and Hedges category by Dr S Fraser, Clerk Fyfield &Tubney PC at 16:07, Mon 5 March 2018
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Over the years the trees to the west of this road have encroached over the verge. Their old leaves have then enabled grass to grow out over the metalled road by over 2.5 feet. This road is used much more frequently than its minor nature would suggest. At its narrowest point, traffic has been forced off the off side verge into the field with severe damage to the edge of the carriageway. The trees need trimming back along the whole length of the road and the verge scraped back to reveal the full width of the carriageway. The broken verge then needs repair. This is not the first time this problem has been reported. Nothing was been done with the result that more effort is now required to rectify the situation.

This is a public road in the county. Somebody has responsibility for its maintenance. It is not good enough to keep passing the buck to other people or denying responsibility. The subsidence on the verge is getting worse and needs repairing. This is definitely a pothole type repair. The vegetation encroachment is the result of inadequate maintenance of verges over many years.
