Congestion

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
The traffic trying to use the A338 in the morning is so heavy that it is now taking 30 minutes to travel from Manor Road to the volunteer bridge in the morning. This is because commuters are being given no choice but to use the A338 as the A417 is so congested due to the lack of filtering allowed onthe temporary traffic lights set up in Hendred. I understand that the lights are there to ensure the safe passing of traffic on the A417, where the road is being removed to allow access for utilities to the new develpoment in the area, but surely the timing of the lights can be refined to allow a faster flow through in the morning and then back in the evening. Commuting to Culham now takes me an hour and ten minutes every day as apposed to t he 40 minutes it used to take. If the lights are to be in place until the middle of March I think the council need to address the mayhem that happens every morning and manage the traffic flow in relation to the weight of traffic using the road. This can't be difficult to do and all commuters would so appreciate any attempt to ease their journey time. We have no choice but to use both the A417 or A338 when trying to leave Wantage. At the moment i feel abandoned and it appears OCC don't care at all....
