Street light hanging by cables - DANGEROUS!, light number 25

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 22:23, Sat 6 January 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

As with other lights in the area, they are held together with sticky tape, it has rained and now the tape has come off, the light is hanging by a single cable and not working. This is dangerous as it could fall on somebody. The light is light number 25 in langford village park land (go from Lapwing close and turn right). Please use tie wraps (as mentioned previously with your staff) so that the repair doesn't fail when it rains (I was told you would speak to your contractors about the poor quality repairs)

  • Why can't the contractors just fix a light properly? Having reported this as dangerous, they came out and fixed the light and now it just stays on 24 hours a day. It's been like that right from the moment they fixed it. This is just wasting money when they should have fixed it properly the first time round.
