Street lamp heavily covered in ivy.

The street lamp immediately outside my house has become very overgrown with ivy. This is now blocking light and sways under the weight in the wind. This issue has been getting progressively worse over the last year.

Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.
Reported faults will continue to be registered on our management system and these will be tackled in coming months.

  • Thank you for your report, we have requested our inspector to attend and establish where the ivy is growing from and if we are able to remove it. If it is found to be growing from off the highway this would be the responsibility of the home owner to have removed.
