A number of separate faults have prevented these bollards operating during this period. Plans are now in place to bring these into operation in the next few weeks.

Yes the rising bollards are a real problem. You must be aware some vehicles use it to avoid the High Street restrictions.I work near the bollards and have witnessed some near misses of fatal accidents. The reason is some motorists drive at high speed.(Do they think this makes them invisible) Many other people on foot,in prams,wheelchairs and on bikes use this route because it is beautiful and otherwise calm. Please spend some time watching this area for an hour or two. It would be horrible to have a fatality.There must be a delivery/access only plan that could work.Thanks

Investigation works into any necessary repairs/bollard reinstatement continue but at the moment we cannot suggest a date that the system will be working.
